George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice & Fire

I have been immersed in A Dance with Dragons and was sketching some of the characters during a free moment.

Lisbon, Barcelona, and a recent publication

I have been remiss about updating because I left the US to go to Lisbon and then Barcelona.
I am still currently in transit as it were – accompanied by a sketch book, James’ Washington Square, and an insatiable curiosity.

Before leaving the US, I found out that I was published in Cornell’s Forword Magazine. I made the cover as well as two illustrations inside.
As a reminder, copies of Bullett Magazine’s premier issue (with my Guy Pearce illustration) are available for purchase from their website.

I am currently with limited Internet access but hopefully will get some sketches uploaded online.

As an update, here are the drawings that were published in Forword:

Guy Pearce Illustration for Bullett Magazine

I was recently contacted to do an illustration for a Guy Pearce interview in Bullett Magazine’s premier issue.  One of the most exciting parts of this project is that my drawing is the only illustration in the magazine.

I did several versions for the magazine over a 15 hour period.  I was initially asked to do a pen-and-ink drawing:

Eventually, I was asked to move in another direction and experiment with a pencil drawing.  The pencil drawing ultimately was the best choice.  Here is a the penultimate drawing to the final published piece:

The published drawing can be seen in my portfolio.
